Imagine having a combined Braille and Regular Typeface

Braille Neue by Tokyo designer Kosuke Takahashi does exactly that

He has developed a new Typeface that simultaneously represents the Latin Alphabet as well as Braille. He designed an English version as well a Japanese one.

There are 26 different characters in the English Alphabet, whereas there are over 250 different symbols in English Braille. They represent numbers, letters, articles and letter combinations such as “th”.

Kosuke had to alter English and Japanese characters to make it woprk with the Braille grid, making the design seem a bit futuristic but still understandable to read.
