Nintendo has not only broken its own sales records of gaming consoles but that of the entire U.S. as well, with its Nintendo Switch being the fastest selling console to date. Previous record holder was set by the Wii, but the Swift has been sold over 4.8 million times during its first 2 months of availability. This is about 800 thousand units more sold than the Wii over the same period.
What makes the Switch so special? To gamers it’s a no brainer, premiering with “The Legend of Zelda: Breathe of the Wind” which was purchased by 55 % of Switch owners. Other such adoption rates go for “Super Mario Odyssey” and “Mario Kart 8 Deluxe”. There is no doubt the demand for Nintendo’s Switch games are high.
