Google recently revealed their vision for Material Design’s future. They did so at I/O 2018 in CA. Material Design dates back to 2018, where Google took an active role in redesigning software UI. Many designers received this change as an opportunity to reimagine user interaction with their apps.
There were some issues regarding the adoption, brand identity for example. Many designers applied the Material design yet had trouble incorporating it with existing brand identity, thus failing to keep the design unique.
Google latest iteration is geared towards more personalization while still adhering to the design concepts and interaction elements.
