With the use of “near field communication” (NFC) tags, which are microchips that smartphones can easily read, this sensor is able to identify spoilage gases.
The sensor also uses PEGS (paper-based electrical gas sensors), a gas sensing technology. These sensors are able to detect harmful chemicals used in agriculture, in air pollution, and diseases that can be diagnosed through chemicals present in a person’s breath. This sensor can have many positive effects especially in fighting climate change and making individuals healthier.
